African Tarot

[Star] [Ace of Pentacles] The African Tarot is a bright, colorful deck drawn in a simple style. The scenes in the cards are based on those of the Rider-Waite deck. The cards themselves are smaller than normal. The African Tarot originated in South Africa. The cards were drawn by Marina Romito who was born in Johannesburg. The instruction booklet was written by Romito and Denese Palm. The tortoise on the back of the cards symbolizes "slow coming of justice" and is inspired by the Shangaan culture of South Africa. The African Tarot comes in a unique corrugated cardboard box that can be used to store the cards.
